Christopher:

Jamaica lies south of Cuba at the western 1 / 2 of this Caribbean. This had been for centuries under British rule, and it has maintained close ties with the uk because independence in 1962. Jamaica is amongst the most distinguishing of Caribbean isles, chiefly as the birthplace of Rastafarianism, which suffuses the civilization, as does the tunes of their island’s many famous native son Bob Marley.

Though rimmed by coastal plains and nice coastal beaches, Jamaica is mostly mountainous. From the east, the Blue Mountains (known for its world-famous coffee increased right here ) increase to 7,402 feet. Irrespective of its relatively modest dimensions, the isle boasts a number of distinct climates: the coastal northeast, centered on the outdated banana-shipping port of Port Antonio, receives copious rain and is exceedingly lush, whereas the somewhat horizontal south central coast, centered on Treasure Beach, lies in a rain shadow and also the overriding plant is cactus and thorn wash.
